Grassroots Business Skills for Coaches Grassroots Business Skills for Coaches
The role of the Grassroots Community Coach has evolved dramatically over the last few years from the "bag and balls" person into the Community Coach who sells the sessions to schools, clubs and parents, who promotes the sessions in the market place and then delivers them.
The market place in which this coach works is now very competitive and if the coaches don’t understand how to sell they won’t get the work, if they don’t understand "customer service" they may not retain their customers and may lose their contracts to competitors. In essence the coaches need to "think and act" like a business people. They need to have commercial acumen, understand the value of "customer service", and understand how to communicate efficiently with their customers / stakeholders as well as work to a strategy which enables them to be in front of the competition.
The Sport Coach "Business Skills" training packages have been developed to provide the coaches with these business skills that are totally relevant to their needs.
The course is run over one day and areas covered include building up a sales culture, basic marketing skills, customer service skills, development of a data ethos and an understanding of the value of social media.
