Albany Outdoors has a lively atmosphere with activities taking place at the centre and off site locations. We're based on the River Thames between Kingston Bridge and Teddington Lock and are well served by road, rail and public transport.

The centre is licensed under the Adventure Activities Licensing Service as an activity provider and is also a British Canoe Union approved centre and a Royal Yachting Association approved centre.

Minima Yacht Club is a few minutes' walk from the centre of Kingston – close to The Guildhall and Rose Theatre at 48a High Street. The riverside of the Club (between The Ram and the Tapas Bar) fronts onto a jetty from which Members are ferried by one of our two launches to the dinghy and canoe park on the west side of the river.

Kingston Rowing Club was founded in 1858 by Mr George Bennett at Messenger’s Boathouse, Kingston and from 1861 was situated in a weather board building on the Raven’s Ait Island on the Thames between Kingston and Surbiton which at the time was owned by Mr Messenger.

The Thames Sailing Club, the UK's oldest river sailing club, founded in 1870. Located between Surbiton and Kingston on the Surrey bank of the River, the Victorian clubhouse overlooks one of London's most beautiful stretches of the river, bordered as it is by Hampton Court Grounds on the Middlesex bank.

The 1st Surbiton (Sealion) Sea Scout Group was founded on the 3rd November 1909 which makes us over 100 years old! It also makes us the second oldest group in the district. Throughout our time we have grown stronger and stronger. Now not only do we have Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and a link to an Explorer unit, we also have a second Beaver colony and a second Cub pack, making us the largest Group in Royal Kingston!
